Pune gears up for India vs Bangladesh on October 19 – The Indian Express

The Indian cricket team arrived at Pune airport around 4.30 pm on Sunday, a day after the Bangladesh cricket team reached the city. The Indian team’s arrival followed their impressive victory over Pakistan by seven wickets at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Saturday.
Next week, Pune is set to make history by hosting its inaugural World Cup match, commencing with the showdown between India and Bangladesh at the Maharashtra Cricket Stadium in Gahunje on Thursday.
As per information given by the venue manager, the Indian team is set to be accommodated at JW Marriott on SP Road, while the Bangladesh team will stay at Conrad hotel. “The team left Ahmedabad earlier today and arrived in Pune in preparation for the upcoming match set for October 19. The team manager has conveyed that there are no scheduled media interactions or public engagements at this time. Both teams will begin their practice session after a one-day rest, from Tuesday onwards,” he said.

Following the Indian team’s arrival at the airport, fans assembled to catch a glimpse of the players and extended a warm welcome to the team. The joy and excitement on the faces of the crowd were evident, especially after a highly spirited match between India and Pakistan. The fans enthusiastically greeted the team with resounding chants of “India, India” and “well-played.”
The Indian cricket coach, Rahul Dravid, and K L Rahul were the first to make their appearance after getting out of the airport, while Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma were the last as they followed the rest of the Indian team. Cricket enthusiasts were observed filming and snapping photos as the team.

While the cricket fans were ecstatic to see the Indian squad at the Pune Airport, they missed the opportunity to get a look at Virat Kohli and captain Rohit Sharma as the duo decided to fly to Mumbai from within the airport. While the other team member exited from the terminal building and boarded a bus that took them to their hotel, Kohli and Sharma weren’t seen outside to the dismay of several hundred fans gathered at the airport to catch a glimpse.
