Nikhil Kamath, co-founder of Zerodha, is officially the youngest billionaire at 37. Ranked 40 among the richest persons in India, the combined net worth of brothers Nithin and Nikhil Kamath currently stands at $5.5 billion, according to Forbes’ latest list of India’s 100 richest people. The Kamath duo founded fintech company Zerodha in 2010 which revolutionised zero-cost equity investing.
Nithin Kamath, the other co-founder, turned 44 last week. Incidentally, he was flying on an IndiGo flight on his birthday and the airline confirmed celebrating the day 35,000 feet in the air. Younger brother Nikhil sent out a happy birthday wish, urging him to to “keep flexing those biceps” and maintain his fitness levels.
On October 11, Nikhil Kamath, who is also a co-founder of True Beacon and Gruhas, announced via his LinkedIn account the “WTF Fund” initiative – a fund which will provide emerging entrepreneurs an opportunity to excel in the sectors like fashion, beauty, and home brands. Kamath said he will be joined by Kishore Biyani, founder of Future Group, Ananth Narayanan, founder of Mensa Brands, and Raj Shamani, content creator and founder of House of X and the Figuring Out Podcast, in the initiative.
Kamath said the idea to set up a fund for young entrepreneurs was inspired by the story of the young founders of Zepto – Aadit Palecha and Kaivalya Vohra.

Meanwhile, the chairman and managing director of Reliance Industries, Mukesh Ambani, reclaimed his throne in the list with a net worth of $92 billion. This comes after Jio Financial Services listed as a separate entity, which has an asset management joint venture with BlackRock, and also named his three children as Reliance board members in August.
The collective wealth of India’s 100 richest was flat at $799 billion for 2023.
