Afghanistan see a revival after losing five wickets quite early. Shahidullah and Naib have put up a 50-run stand to take the team past 110. We wait for the rain to recede else might be looking at a shortened chase for India.
Shahbaz to bowl the 19th. Extremely wide. Slightly slower on the pads, turned to the leg side for a single. Umpires calling for a change in ball. The delay sees the rain intensify and the covers are on.

Arshdeep back into the attack. Low fulltoss on the stumps, clipped upwards but falls short of the long on fielder. Slower yorker this time, batter does well to defend. In the blockhole again, pushed to long on for a single. Six!! Was a decent over from Arshdeep, but Naib lofts the yorker gone wrong over midwicket to finish with a six!
Sai Kishore to continue despite the slight drizzle. Six!! Full and wide, Naib launches it over long on for six. Sai shortens the length this time, punched for a single to mid wicket. Naib goes for a big one again, but inside edges it to fine leg.
Looks like it has started drizzling at the ground. Groundstaff in position near the ropes.
Bishnoi back. Appeals for LBW! But the umpire says no. Three from the over.
Sai Kishore back into the attack. Naib takes down the umpire, trying to complete the run. Must be feeling a little sore. Four!! Short and cut past the fielders in the ring for a boundary. Slight delay due to an injury to Washington’s finger. Back in action. 6 from the over.
Our reporter Aashin Prasad says the lights have been switched on at the ground due to dark clouds moving in. Very dark at the ground he says.
Washington back into the attack. Full on the stumps, Naib misses the sweep, was probably going down leg. Four!! Naib sweeps one to the boundary for four. 5 wides! Down leg, Shahid misses the flick but it runs away to the boundary.
Six!! Slightly full from Shahbaz and Shahid slog sweeps it for six. Shahbaz bowling wide away from the hitting arc now. Four!! Wide again, cut past third man for a boundary. Appeals for LBW but looks like it was spinning down leg. 11 from the over.
Bishnoi continues. Slightly short, Shahid punches off the backfoot for a single. Naib gets on on the pads, clips it to fine leg and completes a quick single. Six from the over.
Shahbaz back in. Janat prods forward and drives to long off for a single. Beaten!! Janat is beaten on the outside edge by one that spins. Wicket!! The next one comes back in from Shahbaz and Janat is bowled.
Karim Janat b Shahbaz Ahmed 1(5)
Gulbadin Naib in at 7.
Bishnoi continues. Two half chances in the first two balls. The first one dropping short of the fielder and the second looping over the in field. Wicket!! Bishnoi brings out the googly and Zazai has no clue. Sees the stumps rattle behind him.
Zazai b Ravi Bishnoi 15(20) [4s-2]
Karim Janat in at 6. A quicker one on the pads, clipped to fine leg.

Sai Kishore into the attack. Shahid defends to the leg side and does well to come back for the second run. Four!! Short and Wide, Shahid cuts and finds the gap for a boundary. Sai Kishore keeping it short and wide off the stumps.
Bishnoi into the attack. How did that miss the stump? Looked like the googly from Bishnoi, missed the bat, pad and the stumps. Just a single from the over after two near misses.
Shahbaz into the attack. Short and wide, Shahid punches to the off side for a single. Six!! Full outside off, Shahid goes down on one leg and slog sweeps it for six. Turn and bounce on the last ball as Zazai is beaten outside off.
Four!! Slightly short from Washington, pulled to the leg side by Zazai for a boundary. Four!! Short again, pulled to the boundary again. Continues to go slightly short, turned to fine leg for a single. Fuller this time, swept to the leg side sweeper for a single. 11 from the over.
Sai Kishore into the attack. A runout opportunity at the non strikers end but the dive saves the batter. Slightly short, batter pushes off the backfoot to the offside for a single. Three runs off the over.
Washington into the attack. Slightly short, Noor Ali rocks back and pulls it to the leg side. He might be in trouble. Runout review. Wicket!! Noor Ali is a good yard outside as the bails are removed. Afghanistan loses its third wicket.
Noor Ali run out (Ravi Bishnoi/Jitesh Sharma) 1(4)
Afsar Zazai in at 5. Gets off the mark with a single to fine leg. Turn and bounce for Washington. Appeal for LBW was probably turning too much.
Arshdeep continues. Full and straight driven to mid on. Close! Extra bounce again as the fuller ball beats Shahzad on the outside edge. Four!! Full again, lofted down the ground, not the best timing, but enough to take it to the boundary. Wicket!! Shahzad moves legside, Arshdeep follows him and Shahzad manages to edge it to the keeper.
Mohammad Shahzad c Jitesh Sharma b Arshdeep Singh 4(6) [4s-1]
Shahidullah in at 4. Quick single to get off the mark.
Shivam Dube with the second over. Overpitched and wide, driven straight to cover. Four!! Short and wide, crunched through the offside for a boundary. Wicket!! Fuller on the stumps, Zubaid looks to go big downtown, but mistimes it completely. Easy catch at mid on.
Zubaid Akbari c Arshdeep Singh b Shivam Dube 5(8) [4s-1]
Noor Ali Zadran in at 3. Three dots to finish.
Arshdeep Singh to open the bowling for India. Mohammad Shahzad and Zubaid Akbari will be batters to open the innings.
Short of a length from Arshdeep first up, extra bounce as Zubaid fends to the offside. Bit of shape outside off stump for Arshdeep. A little fuller this time. Another jaffa! Just past the outside edge and the off stump.
Shortens the length, Zubaid goes for the cut but misses. Similar length, defended to third man for a single. Yorker outside off to finish.
India wins the toss and elects to field first.
