This is India's second win in the World Cup, a certainly a morale booster before the blockbuster clash against Pakistan on Saturday. Ishan Kishan (47) and Shreyas Iyer (25*) also scored vital runs.

So, 273 is what India will need to chase down in their 2023 ODI World Cup match against Afghanistan in Delhi. Naveen-ul-Haq was the batter to come in at number 10, and there were chants of "Kohli, Kohli" when Naveen walked out to the middle, recalling the duo's rivalry in the IPL this season. 
Naveen collected a boundary in the final over, to help Afghanistan post 272/8. Afghanistan might feel they are some 20-30 runs short, but we will get to know if they were short when India begin their run-chase shortly. Stay tuned for India's reply.

India started their campaign with a six-wicket win over five-time champions Australia in Chennai, while Afghanistan suffered a similar margin defeat to Bangladesh in their opener in Dharamsala. Team India, however, will be without Shubman Gill who is still recovering from dengue fever. Gill will today travel to Ahmedabad to continue his treatment as BCCI hopes to have him fit for the match against arch-rivals Pakistan on 14 October.
