Amitabh Bachchan’s granddaughter Navya Naveli Nanda says she built a tractor with her bare hands: ‘It is my greatest accomplishment till date’ – The Indian Express

Navya Naveli Nanda, the granddaughter of megastar Amitabh Bachchan, recently opened up about joining her family business — Escorts Group — which excels in the agriculture field in the country. Navya also revealed that she once built a tractor with her bare hands. Navya, the daughter of Shweta Bachchan and Nikhil Nanda, said that she is excited to be working in the farming sector, as a very large percentage of India’s economy is run by agriculture. Navya’s brother Agastya is all set to make his acting debut with Netflix’s The Archies.
“Farming, as an industry, is one of our largest. A very large percentage of our economy is run by agriculture. So I think it is very important for us to be in that sector so I am quite excited that I am able to work in this sector. A lot is happening and we are trying to do a lot of things, farming is also changing a lot. It’s been almost eighty years since my great grandfather (Har Prasad Nanda) started this company. I am the fourth generation, actually, of my family to be working in the business,” Navya told Mashable in an interview.

Navya then opened up about how, like anyone who joins a large company, she had to attend an orientation programme. She shared, “Now it is two years since I am working in the family business. So, the first time I went for the orientation, it was in Chennai. Everyone who joins the company has to go through the orientation, so did I.” Navya then revealed that she had joined the Escorts group as a junior marketing manager and is still on the same level even after competing two years of employment in the company. She said, “I had joined at the union level in the marketing team, as a junior marketing manager and I am still at the junior level only. I work in the marketing and communication department. Despite that I have also received training in the shop floor so I spend about three weeks in Chennai, we have a plant there.”
Navya said that as a part of her training, she has built a tractor all by herself, and that this is her go-to story whenever she’s asked to reveal a fun fact about herself. She said, “I have actually built a tractor by myself, I took about three-four days. From start to finish, I built it with my own hands. It is my greatest accomplishment till date. When people ask me for a fun fact about myself, I tell them I have made a tractor.”
Along with working in her family business, Navya is also an entrepreneur. She had taken to Instagram in 2021 to give an update about ‘Project Naveli’, her initiation to bridge the gender gap in India.
