Pakistan beat India by 8 wickets in the U-19 Asia Cup fixture in Dubai on Sunday. While Pakistan completely dominated the fixture, a rare instance from the cricket field has gone viral on social media. The incident happened in the 32nd over of the Indian innings and turned out to be a turning point of the match. While before this wicket, India were 139/2 with Adarsh Singh and captain Uday Saharan looking solid in the middle, the wicket changed the complexion of the match

Even though Adarsh did nick the ball and in that sense it can be said that nothing unqiue happened as Arafat Minhas produced the edge but it was how the wicketkeeper held on to the catch that has made headlines. Even before wicketkeeper Saad Baig could take his gloves to the ball, it had actually got stuck between his legs. Smartly though the keeper ensured that it does not touch the ground and then grabbed it and claimed the catch to send Adarsh back in the pavilion for 62 off 81.

The video of the dismissal has gone viral.

Eventually, India managed to post 259/9 in their 50 overs. Apart from Adarsh, Saharan and Sachin Dhas also scored half-centuries. However, in response, Pakistan’s Azan Awais scored a sensational hundred and remained unbeaten on 105 off 130 deliveries to take Pakistan to a famous win. Shahzaib Khan and skipper Baig also scored half-centuries, scoring 63 and 68 respectively.

Murugan Abhishek was the only bowler for India who tasted success and finished with figures of 2/55 from his 9 overs but that wasn’t enough for India to stop Pakistan from chasing down the total.

Earlier for Pakistan, it was Mohammad Zeeshan who shone with the ball, scalping 4 wickets for 46 in his 10 overs.
