Adani Enterprises, Adani Ports top gainers on Nifty50; HDFC Bank, RIL most active on Feb 29 – Business Today

Benchmark indices — BSE Sensex and NSE Nifty — on Thursday settled higher in a volatile trade, led by gains in state-owned lenders, metals and financials. Headline index NSE Nifty closed at 21,982.80-level. Top gainers on the Nifty50 platform were Adani Enterprises, Adani Ports, IndusInd Bank, Tata Consumer Products and Britannia while losers included Apollo Hospitals, Bajaj Auto, LTIMindtree, Eicher Motors and UPL.
Stocks such as HDFC Bank, Reliance Industries, ICICI Bank, Airtel and TCS were most active on NSE today, in terms of value. PowerGrid, Tata Steel and SBI were the other buzzing stocks on the platform, in terms of volume.
In the NSE 500 index, shares of Infibeam Avenues Ltd emerged as the top gainer. The stock zoomed 9.05% on NSE today to settle at Rs 36.75. At this price, the company commanded a market capitalisation (m-cap) of Rs 10,210.5 crore.
Berger Paints (India) Ltd shares soared 7.53% to close at Rs 606.7. The company’s m-cap came at Rs 70,723.4 crore.
Ingersoll-Rand India Ltd shares surged 7.42% to close at Rs 3,658.15. The company’s m-cap stood at Rs 11,548.1 crore. Triveni Turbine, Aptus Value Housing Finance, Allcargo Logistics and Hindustan Copper were some of the other gainers on NSE 500.
Shares of Max Healthcare Institute Ltd fell sharply today. The stock dived 6.83% to close at Rs 793.35 on Thursday. At this price, the company’s market cap stood at Rs 77,102.4 crore.
KSB Ltd shares slipped 6.81% to end the session at Rs 3,659.6. The company’s m-cap came at Rs 12,738.3 crore today. Rail Vikas Nigam Ltd (RVNL), Global Health, Prestige Estates and Rainbow Children’s were among some other laggards on NSE 500.
